Description
Seems like a crazy idea to trade an RFA who had 56 points last year, right? SJS signed Labanc last summer to a $1M deal, that surely wont happen again. SJS is tight against the cap and if they had a choice between trading a guy like Hertl or Labanc, I'm sure they'd trade Lebanc.

I also don't see the Isles trading for Labanc but I was bored and I figured why not do this.

Value wise yes. However player wise the sharks need neither of those guys. Our primary need would be bottom pair young RHD or a young forward prospect, or a goalie prospect.

Isles could offer Bode Wilde, but not with a 1st. I'd do Wilde and a 2nd OR a 1st and a lesser prospect.

If you really want a bottom pairing RHD, I'd do something around Mayfield for Labanc + something small in the off-season.

Yes but we don't have a lot of other pieces to offer for high quality players.

There really aren't. The only prospects we can afford to give up in our top-5 are Bellows and Wilde. We shouldn't offer Wahlstrom, Dobson, or Sorokin to anyone because they're too important.

After those five, there's Holmstrom (who they just drafted), Iskhahov (who's like 5'2"), and guys like Wotherspoon and Vande Sompel who are becoming less and less valuable every year. Sebastian Aho has value, but we can't afford to trade him if we're trading Leddy in the off-season. Right now, at this deadline, Bellows and Wilde are the only prospects of value we have to move high quality players, and I would move Wilde and a 2nd for Kevin Labanc.

Oh see I thought we had more decent prospects that’s my bad then yeah I’d trade him and a second for Leblanc

Yeah it sucks, it's really what's holding the Isles back the most is a lack of even decent prospects to trade for pieces we need. There are some other guys that we don't know much about (Bolduc, Bibeau, Newkirk), but I don't know how much value they really have. I guess Jakub Skarek has value for a team that needs a goalie, but I'd rather keep him in case anything happens with Sorokin.
