Why Manson to TOR doesnt work for ANA

Created by: Jah1722
Team: 2019-20 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 29, 2020
Published: Jan. 29, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is a version of the trade used most on here. Sometimes Ceci isn’t included and sometimes it’s 2021 2nd or 2020 3rd.

From a ducks perspective, this trade doesn’t work. I put all of the RHD the ducks have under contract/rights to on the roster. Show me a guy you can bank on to be at least #4 for at least the relative near future. There isn’t one. Now look at the possible middle 6 fwds, the place Johnsson and Bracco would be, and show me why it’s worth creating that massive hole on the back end. Yes Johnsson is a decent improvement over the current look of the LW depth the ducks have but not enough to create that big of a hole.

The ducks would want Liljegren but TOR wouldn’t want to move him in this deal. The only way TOR ends up with Manson is if they include a 3rd team.

Now if you want to revisit in offseason when it’s more plausible for the ducks to make other moves to help fill the hole losing Manson would create then we can have a conversation.

I've done the 3 way trade on this site - went over well

Ducks should be doing a full rebuild - a re tool is pointless

Leafs D is mediocre , Freddie hasn't crumbled in the playoffs to date - The D have

All TOR prospects are “elite” prospects, even ones that have regressed since their draft *cough* Liljegren *cough*... *cough* still has top pairing potential *cough*

BUF says “no”. When will TOR fans get the message that middle 6 wingers that don’t drive the play don’t net top 4 D-men?

You’re underselling Manson. Liljegren isn’t that good. His ceiling is well-below what Manson has achieved and his skill set isn’t nearly as desirable. Also, TOR fans love talking about how Manson “regressed” since being on arguably the most dominant shutdown pairing in the NHL, but the skirt over the fact that Liljegren has regressed too and clearly doesn’t have the upside they originally thought. The kid hasn’t even sniffed an NHL ice and is already falling short of expectations and we’re supposed to be grateful that he’s included in a deal for our best RHD. Get real! Keep him and we’ll keep Manson.

Kase + Sprong + Perry’s cap hit + 2nd for Nylander. That 3 assets for 1 so you win, riiiiiiigggggghhhhhtttttt? Duuuuhhhhh! Such nonsensical TOR fan logic.

Lol I was just chirping him for not know what asset management is, and saying Liljegren has regressed shows you have never watched him play, he has worked hard on his defensive game and he is now legitimately good defensively while also putting up 26 points in 35 games (also progress not regression) from the blue line... also he has played an NHL game so yes he has sniffed NHL ice, seriously this post just shows how little you know for how much you talk

A young player who has proven he is too good for the AHL isn’t an asset... okay ?

22 year old with ZERO nhl games is not an asset. He’s has minimal value.

You're right, if you don't make the NHL at 22 you should just give up forever because you're worthless.

I didn’t say he was a highly valueable asset, that’s why it’s not 1 for 1 but he certainly an asset otherwise why even have him in this trade, if you don’t like him as the asset you want you can replace it with another of similar value like a 3rd or maybe another leafs second as it will be a late one or another prospect like SDA

Bracco isn’t worth a 3rd.

Thanks for the effort, but it’s literally just TOR fans commenting on that thread. Not a single BUF or ANA fan.

At the AHL level. Fine keep him.

We will, we'll also take Manson for Bracco and a 3rd before he's completely useless

Duck and Sabre clearly had no complaints about the deal as they have been completely quiet on the thread which informs me they really don't have an argument against that particular trade

I’m going to assume you’re just being facetious. You can’t be that dense to think that if a BUF or ANA fan hasn’t commented on your thread that they are okay with the proposed deal. I am sure that most fans probably didn’t even see your thread and hence didn’t comment on it. Being ignorant of a proposed deal isn’t the same as agreeing to a proposed deal.
