I could understand the trade you suggested, but it's nonsense that the Leafs lack grit. Teams "fighting" toughness yep this miss that , toughness, they are certainly OK is that department.. But again the uninformed always use the words "lacking team grit and toughness". Certainly different meanings, and that phrase doesn't apply to the Leafs.
Um ok, obviously you have missed the Leafs playoff games from the last 3 seasons. Leafs lack grit and toughness = 1st Rd. defeat

Sorry you missed the Leafs/Bruins series. Except in rare series it wasn't a rough series at all. Gee, both games went to game seven and the Leafs weren't run out of the rink at all.. If the Leafs had NHL coaching they certainly could have one the first series. Goaltending and lack of scoring hurt the Leafs in the final two games of of last years series.

In today's NHL grit and toughness doesn't mean the same as the ole goon days, grit and toughness in today's NHL means; going to the corners, finishing your check, playing dirty without penalty and not folding under pressure, all things the Leafs have not done during the last 3 Playoffs. Last year's Cup winners the Blues were without the doubt the toughest and dirtiest team in the playoffs are they get to lift the Cup, meanwhile the pillow soft Leaf players only got to lift their golf clubs (which honestly Toronto players have always seemed to prefer during the past 2 decades).

You are just making a sarcastic remark in your final statement that really has nothing to do with the two series. I know it's your gig just to criticize the Leafs endlessly for no logical reasons. So be it. Lots of other posts to read and comment on.

Maybe you'll get lucky and get a chance to golf with J.T. and the rest of the team in May, because they wouldn't be playing hockey for sure.
