This ones tough. I really think Dahlen has potential to be just as good as Anderson very soon. Guess it depends what the sharks org thinks of him but id probably try to send a different prospect

Honestly I doubt Thornton waives unless it’s to someone like Boston or Washington who are loaded and look like they’ll be going on a long run.

Also I don’t really want to part with Anderson who could be an important part for playoffs with his physical play and his size. If he gets back on track he’s a tough matchup for teams.

The only suitable replacement would be Alex True, but not sure the Sharks would want to part with a center prospect.

I don't disagree with you. However, Anderson does pose a bit of an issue down the line. Maybe it us all speculation and the contract holdout is water under the bridge but a bridge won't work and not sure how the Jackets feel about longterm on him.

Well he’s still and RFA at seasons end, though he has arbitration rights they look at his whole season and career so there won’t be any holdout..... if things don’t work out for him in Columbus long term or if he wants out after next season he can easily be trade for lost draft picks. At the draft or close to the regular season start.

You make keeping him sound like a bad thing. It’s not like we would lose him for nothing at the end of the season. The worst thing that’ll happen is he signs and offersheet and we get picks for it or we match and keep him till the deadline and trade him to a team making a run at the cup for picks/prospects or a struggling NHL player.

Sharks should decline, Anderson is overrated in my book.

I don't think teams have to pay anything to get Big Joe.
It's a favor to the sharks to even take his 40 year old self onto a team.

The worst thing that could happen is Jarmo lowballs Anderson so Anderson just signs his QO and walks after next season when he hits UFA. I don't think that will happen but my faith in Jarmo to sign guys to good long term contracts is almost gone.
