Why aren't Malkin, Marino, Jarry, and Pettersson in the deal?? Seems lopsided to PITT without them in there

If you think this is bad. Go and see how bad the trades for Tatar are.

I thought Malkin is just a slow lazy russian with a terrible contract. He didn't even make the NHL top 100. Who needs pettersson or Marino when they have Dumba, who is clearly the best dman in the league. Jarry is overrated and a product of a good defensive system. LMAO

Now you know about how Leaf fans feel about Georgiev and pretty much any half decent player the Leafs try to target

Every team wants a decent return for the players on their team they think are best.
I think the reality though, is that there are a lot of teams trying to sell off for futures, and not many buyers.
Zucker is nice in that he's not a rental. But I think if they want to move him for a better return the off season is probably a better time to make the deal.
I think after the Brass move and the Pearsson move, GMJR kind of realizes it's best to not over reach.

Maybe I should make a “Bjugstad’s and Galchenyuk’s value according to pens fans” roster, because that’s where the super crazy **** happens!

I don't think either of those is a "has been"
Chucky is 25 years old and needs a better fit system wise. He was never going to fit here. It's a N/S game here, that's not what he does.
Bjugs, has been a solid player his whole career. He's just got injury issues. But nothing that really prevents him from coming back on them. Like his core muscle injury this year.
Kind of unlucky in the regard. But he's been a solid contributor on the ice when he's there.

Chunky has yet to “fit” on any team or any system...he has no value to me at all.
Bjugstad is an AHL talent who happens to be 6-6 with 10 foot long arms...

Let's compare three supposed on-the-block players:

Kreider - 28 years old, .596 career PPG, $4.625mil/year, 1 yr remaining
Tatar - 29 years old, .591 career PPG, $4.8 mil/year, 2 yrs remaining
Zucker - 28 years old, .559 career PPG, $5.5 mil/year, 4 years remaining

Lets also look at comparable players just given new contracts:
Anders Lee - 29 years old, .605 career PPG, new contract: $7mil/year over 7 years
W. Karlsson - 27 years old, .551 career PPG, new contract: $5.9mil/year over 5 years
Silfverberg - 29 years old, .523 career PPG, new contract: $5.25mil/year over 5 years

All three are making below the most recent market value based on their career production, but the key is to look at age and years of control left at what price, as well as what your team can work within the cap for this year and moving forward, if that's something that is part of the plan. Only opinion I'll offer here is I think Lee was overpaid and Karlsson underpaid..

Chucky fit in pretty well with MTL till the falling out there. He did score 30 goals there.
And Jugs is not an AHL talent. He'd play for a lot of teams, if he wasn't always hurt.

Zucker is under contract and at a managable cap hit i think he should be worth more than 4 months of Kreider

I’ll admit, probably an overstatement on my part...but, if he was 5-10 180lbs, would he be in the NHL??? Probably not.

Why do the Wild want Letang at full price, that completely kills the deal. Wild pass.

Sid (half retained) + Malkin (half retained, they do need a Russian center to play with Kaprizov next year) + 1 of Jarry/Murray + 3 1sts for Zucker + Rask.

minn will get a nice return for him if they decided to trade him. if they were willing to accept less he would have been traded already. a lot of teams would be interested in him.
