As a Toronto fan, I would rather trade Rielly or Barrie and keep Muzzin. We need players that can actually defend.

Manson and Muzzin are very comparable players but Manson is the opposite handedness and has 2 more years of team control. Is that difference worth giving up Kapanen? ....

As was already mentioned, above, the only reason the Leafs consider trading Muzzin is if they can't resign him to reasonable number. The number and term you provided are more than reasonable, so Toronto shouldn't have a problem making that happen. Furthermore, he's a local kid. I can't see him asking for a move. Finally, unless the Leafs are in sell mode, I am not sure they trade any of their to-be UFAs simply because they don't get past the first round without Jake Muzzin, and perhaps Barrie too, but more so Muzzin. So yes, Manson is a bit younger and on a good deal, but with Muzzin going the other way, I would argue that least for this season, that's not really an upgrade to this Toronto team as a whole. And this is all besides the fact that I think Duck fans, and a lot of fan, in general, overvalue Manson's worth.

Barrie, yeah makes sense. Rielly? Absolutely not. He's a huge part of the team, and while he hasn't been great this year, it would be selling low. Rielly isn't going anywhere
