One quality D man short still.....the one that can sail you over 1st Round...and still lot of valuable assets to throw into a trade for one....

I like the idea of getting Pesce. I'd prefer to try to move some futures over Barrie though, I'm not sure that Liljegren is fully ready for NHL minutes THIS season

I'm the Burgerboss, so I need to inspect this.

And I'll say that Canes decline fairly easily.

This because Pesce is their only RHD that is signed long-term. This move is illogical for them.

I would say sail through the first round. Many bottom pair Dmen to choose from and if hou’re Getting 45-50 min from the top two pairs it’s all good.

Hamilton has another year, Dermott plays the right and left. I agree though. If canes don’t think they can re sign Barrie it’s a sure no.

It wouldn't do have all their RHDs only signed for maximum of two years. Having one with 4,5 years is much better...

And they're strongly rumored to be interested in Brodin to help their defense so trading a defensive D (regardless of which side he plays on) doesn't really make sense if there's any truth to that rumor.

Most likely they're interested in Brodin due to Hamilton's injury. They need strengthening.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was being reported through the usual Wild writers before Hamilton went down. I think they were looking to address Gardiner's slow start for them. Brodin also is a good add because he's played on the right side before, so he brings versatility.

As much as the Leafs would like Pesce, they can't trade two NHL Dman and only get one in return when Reilly is still on LTIR. You realize Ceci has become the Leaf shut down RHD. Overall I think the trade favour the Leafs long term but not this year.
