Not bad, but no way that is the asking for Kucherov. Make the picks a 1st and 2nd and it's more realistic.

Nice looking roster but Johnny is gonna probably get a contract more like Tarasenko's and you're gonna have to give up a bit more for Kucherov

In order to claim a RFA you must give compensation. Compensation is basically giving up a certain amount of picks based on how much you pay the player. Therefore you wouldn't claim Kucherov with the move you made. Also, Tampa can match your offer and they have enough cap to do so.

Yep, you need to pay more for Kucherov.

Stormcrow666 and BombSquad are on the money, Kucherov will cost you more to obtain his rights and to sign... As for A_Storm_Is__Bruin's comments you by passed RFS compensation by trading for Kucherov's RFA rights... Also - although Tampa is listed with 8.5 mil in cap space when you include performance bonuses that number could drop as low as 5.3 mil but will DROUIN qualify for his 2.9? doubtful but he may get a portion... IMO Tampa's cap space is closer to 7-7.5 but they still need to sign Kucherov and 3 more players (2 F + 1 D) to fill their roster... They may not have to $$$ to resign Kucherov as he is probably looking for 7.5 mil + (this also means that Calgary probably can afford him...)

As for you line up, I really like the respect you are giving to Bennett, kid deserves some solid line mates! As for defense... I really hope they let Gio and TJ play together and they both have an injury free year! Want them to show what they can really do! IMHO they are the best d pair in the league!

Can't wait to see what this team can do with the addition of Brouwer and 2 goalies that can stop a puck... The number of bad goals given up last year was atrocious... with this factor removed there is no reason this team shouldn't be able to dominate and get back into the playoffs!!!! We also need someone to sit down with Johnny and figure out why his home and away point are so different... this was not the case in his rookie year some I'm guessing - just guessing - he is enjoying the road trips a little to much... Needs to stick to his home schedule routine!

All fair points. The flames can't afford Kucherov and Brouwer with Kuch at anything more than 6million. They need the rest of that space for bonus payouts so they don't get nailed on going over the cap. That's factoring in the 3.5 relief for Smid IF SMID misses all season. If he doesn't ther'es about 500k coushin there. Just hope that Smid takes most of the season to come back if he comes back at all.
I thought the Johnny contract was right in line with Tarasenko's. I would be fine bumping up the 2nd and 4th rd pciks to a 1rst and 2nd for Kucherov. Would do that deal all day but that would be my starting point with Yzerman.
@tradejong - I think your last point there about Johnny home and away probably has a lot more to do with last change and shitty bob hartley tactics.
He didnt know how to line match up to save his life.
First season he sheltered mony and johnny more on the road.
Put Johnny on a team with a coach like Vingualt and i dont think youd see a big difference in discrepancy home and away.

I'd be all over this, but the asking price for Kucherov would be more than that. I don't know that anyone would take Engelland's contract. Even though his contract isn't sexy, he's a good 5/6 d-man worth having around.
Also, Brouwer fits perfectly with the top line; Kucherov with Bennet is more likely. But... no way Kucherov gets dealt. More like Shinkaruk, Wotherspoon, and a 1st.
