Possible deadline trades

Created by: kailer_memeamoto
Team: 2019-20 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 30, 2020
Published: Jan. 30, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Only one, or a couple or even none of these would go through realistically, not all. I'm just throwing them out there
Trades
1.
EDM
  1. Anderson, Josh
  2. Voronkov, Dmitri [Reserve List]
  3. 2021 6th round pick (CBJ)
CBJ
  1. Benson, Tyler
Additional Details:
Purely speculation of course, but it seems like the new management has given up on Benson, otherwise he w L, and is ready to play top 9, even a top 6 role on any NHL team. As an oilers fan I hope this doesn't happen; Benson will be good. Hopefully with us and not with another team
2.
EDM
  1. 2020 4th round pick (CGY)
LAK
  1. Khaira, Jujhar
Additional Details:
He's far too slow and has some trade value.
3.
NYR
  1. Gagner, Sam
  2. Samorukov, Dmitri
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
I don't think this meets what the rangers want for Kreider, but a 2nd pairing D prospect, a 3rd line player, and a 2nd round pick is the most i'd give up for kreider if I was any team.
4.
EDM
  1. Caggiula, Drake
  2. Nylander, Alexander
  3. 2021 1st round pick (CHI)
CHI
  1. Nurse, Darnell
Additional Details:
Nurse is for sure an oiler. He's a fan favourite and a locker room favourite, but if he's asking for the amount that's rumored, around 6 mil per year at 6 years, holland would be wise to ship him out. Likely for a winger. If this deal happens, no other d man should be moved in the off season.
5.
EDM
  1. Kapanen, Kasperi
  2. Timashov, Dmytro
  3. 2020 6th round pick (COL)
TOR
  1. Larsson, Adam
Additional Details:
Anytime people make a trade for Larsson they just assume he's a bottom pairing defenseman for whatever reason... This guy is a top 4 shutdown d man on any team- right side too. Toronto needs this guy the most out of any team that's buying at the deadline for sure, and they've got some pieces the oilers would like on the block.

Well Columbus declines... maybe Anderson for Benson 1 for 1 but Columbus isn’t adding... Not sure why Anderson’s value is so awful for people right now, I know his points are there but he’s still big, fast and has decent hands.... he was trying to play injured the first part of the season. He’ll be back to his middle 6 power forward role soon.

If columbus wants to sell from a position of weakness then they can go ahead, I don't know why they're trying to trade him when they could sign him for cheap and then hold onto him until he finds his game again. If I'm Kekalainen the trade definitely interests me- but I say no and hold onto Anderson

I can see the Hawks taking that deal - cups are won with 17 LHDs on a roster

So Larsson is a 3A or 2B Dman even on the Leafs, you want Kapenen? It's Larrson and Benson (cause Benson is top 6)

Your not getting that for benson, maybe one for one

Kings aren't taking a fourth liner with term for a fourth

Your not getting that for kreider. Holland wasn't willing to trade samo for hall so what makes you think that he's gonna trade for krieder

That package for nurse is bad. Nylander can't play, cagguila a terrible defensive player and that first is going to probably to be a mid 1st round pick

With larrson gone that right side looks battered

Why are you tearing down and rebuilding? Trading core pieces for picks/young players is NOT the right direction for this team.

None of these moves are really rebuilding moves besides maybe the nurse trade

Difference is Benson is still young, and bracco has the best AHL roster ahead of him.

Benson is 1 year younger, Marlies success is in large part due to Bracco's contributions

That's simply looking at points. Bracco isn't more than *maybe* a top 9 player, and benson is likely a top 6 guy.

points are good, but don't determine how good a player is. Defense is a thing, and so are linemates, ice time, etc etc. Especially for prospects, points arent the half of it
