8 teams in on Kreider per Lebrun

Created by: vosse9
Team: 2019-20 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 30, 2020
Published: Jan. 30, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Insider trading says 8 teams have shown interest in Kreider. Looks like they’re looking for a return similar to the Hayes trade last year. May just get that with that much interest being generated. Who do you think the teams are?

My best guess
East: Boston, Pitt, Tampa and Florida
West: St. Louis, Colorado, Dallas and my wildcard Nashville

I think Tampa gets him given all the trades they've made with the Rangers and they definitely have the prospects

Don’t count Columbus out. They need secondary scoring from the wing and there is a connection between Jarmo and JD.

I could see someone giving up the 1st, but if there was an offer of a 2020 1st and a top prospect out there, the Rangers should have agreed to it a long time ago.

I don't think they are getting both a first and high prospect, its more likely to be 1st plus a more middle of road prospect although I could be wrong

Blues would be interested middle of the road pick and middle of the road prospect, but First Round pick is a big no just because our Prospect Pool has dropped dramatically.

I don't believe there are 8 teams after him one bit. Looks like some straight fake news to me.
There are 16 playoff teams.
1/2 of those teams aren't even looking and aren't going to cough up big assets. Not only are they kind of bubble teams, but they don't view their shot at winning as worth the risk.
of the 8 left. 1/2 of them will spend their assets looking for defense if they are going to spend at all.
You might have 4 teams looking at Kreider. Of those 4 teams looking to spend on a winger, they are probably looking at roughly 6-10 guys on the market.
It's a buyers market.

I agree. The one factor that could change that is he may be the best player available this year in a slim market.

But 1st/mid or 2nd/good is his FMV. How far it strays from that remains to be seen.

These are all middle prospects.... of these, the only one I’d be happy with as a fan is Volkov plus the 1st.

I don't disagree, but I don't know if Jarmo pays a first, especially in a loaded draft. Also it would be interesting to know if Torts and Kreider have a history. He has a M-NTC.

They are all middle of the road prospects. Was basing it off the Lemieux deal last year. Rangers are looking for younger guys who are about ready to step in and play.

That is how i see it as well, LeBrun states that the package will be at least the value of what Hayes got for the rangers which was a first and Lemeiux.

Assumption of course, but given that 8 teams are in on Kreider and he is top rental on the market, that would drive the price up a bit. The bruins are not giving up studnicka, i am well aware of that. But I would love to see them get someone similar in that regard in addition to a 2nd round pick. Similar to Ottawa last year in the Stone trade, they got Branstrom who was a A- prospect and a second rounder. Not saying Kreider is Stone and i'm not saying he'll get that but as a fan it is what I would like to see.

That homer is an idiot then considering that signing him isn't completely off the table lol.

Totally agree. Would probably be very gun shy after last spring. I had a list of good gets for CBJ:
Joe Thornton - would be very beneficial due his experience and a true rental player on a low value contract, who desperately wants to win the CUP
Rikard Rakell
Evander Kane
Tomas Hertl
Kyle Palimieri
Tyler Toffoli
JG Pageau
Anthony Duclair
Vic Arvidsson would be a good acquisition, a high scoring winger

i still think to this day Davidsson really screwed us....knowing he was leaving after the season and putting Jarmo up to (or allowing him to) mortgage the team for 1 spring when all along he (Davidsson) said to the CBJ fans they would build brick by brick for the future, and not mortgage the team for short term gain (make any moves the way they did).

I really hope Tampa doesn't waste a 1st rounder on a rental.

Settle for someone cheaper like Toffoli
