Sell high on Tatar as hes expendable

Created by: Pmanningno2
Team: 2020-21 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 31, 2020
Published: Jan. 31, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Habs miss the playoffs again, getting about the 15th overall.
Move Kovalchuk, Scandella and Tatar at TDL.

Obviously lots of different options for Tatar, but I'd rather prospects who have developed a little farther than a late 1st rounder.

tatar will get you a first rd pick and a good prospect. drop kaut from that trade and add a 1st. mtl retains some salary as well.

Former 16th and 32nd overall prospects with no guarentee to ever make the NHL for 2 playoff runs of a perennial 60 point top 6 winger in his prime.

Doesn't seem delusional, perhaps a lil optimistic.

Max salary is retained. And as I stated, would rather a prospect than a 1st at this point.

Mtl seem to head in the direction of selling ... no one ! Tatar chemistry with Danault and Gallagher makes them one of the best 5v5 line statistically speaking at least . With Petry which Bergevin said publically he didn't wanna trade . Maybe i could see Domi ask for a trade because he's having an average year . But on and on we are off the market , espacially the one where people think they gonna get Tatar against a 2nd and a B prospect .
I personnally just see a market where pricetag are high (Kreider) and not that much to buy for the clear buyers .
Bergevin publicly said he's not even listening to Price or Weber offer so that's done at least !
Kovalchuck might stay too . Under a 2nd we're not selling him unless he ask for a specific destination (wsh?) and we accommodate .

We'll definately be moving some players this year.
We have 49/50 contracts today, and have at least 5 good prospects from 2018 draft which must be signed to ELCs or they go back into draft/UFA.

I know people will say this isn't enough for Tatar, but both Timmins and Kaut are performing way below their draft values. Don't see Montreal doing this.
