Interesting... I was thinking about JP for Mitts last week, but I figured Sabres fans would lose it on me. grin

Ya that isn't going to happen. Mittelstadt will be a better player and at least has done something in the minors

This is not necessarily true. Both players development has been mismanaged to a certain degree with Puljujarvi still presenting more upside than Mittelstadt presently. Liiga is a far better league than the AHL and Puljuarvi is tearing it up, much more so than Mittelstadt is the AHL. On paper, I feel like it is close to what Edmonton would want but still may be light on the Buffalo side.

Man I love when teams give me their best forward (or close to it) for literal scraps, then two more teams do it

I get that you like Mittelstadt more than Puljujarvi, I really do. But using his time in the minors as an example doesn't hold any water.

Mittelstadt has been in the AHL for 17 games as a 21-year-old and has scored 0.59 P/GP. Puljujarvi scored 0.72 P/GP in the AHL as an 18-year-old and is currently 0.95 P/GP in a similar-level league as a 21-year-old.

Career NHL stats:

Mittelstadt: 145, 21-27-48 -28
Puljujarvi: 139, 17-20-37 -10

They really aren't that far apart. Except in the skating dept. Mitts isn't an NHL skater, JP is a very good skater.

Quick question about the Mantha and Ehlers trades: how are you blackmailing Yzerman and Cheveldayoff?

Wings and Winnepeg easily pass, unless as previous poster claims Buffalo has some very incrimanating evidence on both their gm's.

Sure hes a good skater, Mittelstadt is an elite level playmaker. Sure they are very similar to compare, I jusy wouldnt trade for a guy who thinks he deserves better chances when he hasnt proven anything. Im fine with patiently waiting for Mittelstadt. I doubt I'll be waiting for more than 1 season

I'm not sure where this narrative came from, but I don't think it's accurate. He asked for a trade, he didn't say why.
