This trade straight up sucks for MTL...

Not even a pick in 2020 - no first - a cap dump - a 23 year old AHLer - a reclamation project.

MTL passes.

Domi hasn't proven this year that he can sustain more or less what he did last year. Plus MTL doesn't seem to like him all that much

I mean, his underlying numbers are still solid and he's on pace for 54 points over 82 games. That's would be his second best season of his career. Basically MTL has been killed by injuries and whatnot, so he hasn't had Drouin, Gallagher, and other players, so it makes sense that his numbers would dip this season. He still looks good and they wouldn't just give him up for an unimpressive package that doesn't help them now or anytime soon (with the 2021 and possibly 2022(!) picks)

EDM has 19 million cap space next offseason... even more when the cap increases.. Nurse will get roughly 6 mil, Benning won't get 2 mil, I don't see Bear getting over 2,5 mil, Smith will cost 1,5 mil or so, Sheahan, Haas and Archibald (I think 2 of the 3 come back) will be cheap to resign... There will be around 10 mil left for Domi

These dudes haven't proven that they can sustain an NHL career:

Puljujärvi
Gagner
Marody

But you're worried about Domi sustaining a PPG pace?

You talk about Domi like he's worth an earlt to mid 1st rounder...

Well let's take a look about the package I sent...

Marody, Puljujarvi , a late 2nd rounder, a late 3rd rounder plus maybe even another late 3rd rounder = mid 1st rounder, pretty easily

You haven't listed one asset with a guaranteed NHL career ...

Puljujarvi has the best chance of becoming an NHL regular (at maybe 50%).
A 23 year old Marody + the late 2nd + 3rd each have roughly a 20% chance.

Combined ... your offering a good chance at getting an NHL regular ... and an extremely slim chance that one of them becomes as good as Domi is right now.

Youre at 10 with out the depth players and a goalie and bonuses they may have about 5 to fit him in. I had him at 5.75 on his next contract

Then stop putting a bow on a turd and just put EDM 2020 first round pick. Everything short of that is a crap offer.

We'll give you a 2022 2nd, Dale Weisse, and a 2023 3rd for Yamamato, Deal?
He hasn't proven he can play at a PPG so his value is low, right?
