At this point, yes. But not really sure what TBL are thinking -- when he was on the top lines (before his fat contract), he got points -- when he is on the bottom lines (now), he doesn't. He just needs to play with good players to produce, he isn't good enough to create offense on his own. That's not a player that is worth $5m+

Conditionnal 3rd IMO... the pick becomes a 2nd if he scores more than 20

Great question. Watch out for F50...he might ban this post... He's a pretty decent player, but makes WAY too much money and has a FULL NTC. Hard to move him unless TBL is A.) willing to eat cap or B.) send one of those 1st rounders out. I think DET would be the perfect spot for him. He'll excel with more minutes. DET wins. and they certainly have the cap space. He's more likely to waive there considering it's Stevie Y. But Stevie isn't going to do ANY favors for any other team than his. He's that good of a GM.

Being a wings fan its exactly what i was thinking. He slots in as a middle 6 forward and they can probably do it without taking cap back

No, he's in the same situation as Killorn last year, still a good player just doesn't get ice time, i would absolutely love it if my team would get paid to "take on" his contract

I think he'd waive his NTC to come home to Quebec IF he was guaranteed we were going to use him

To me Gourde for Byron
i'd do it straight up as short term TBL saves cap and term ,
Longterm they undo a trade they probably shouldnt have agreed to in its current structure much like MTL with Price there's buyers remorse on the Terms (not about the players )
but chances are that trade doesnt go over well so i added Kovalchuk for a short term reward seeing as Byron injured this will make TBL better today for a cup run .

you could attach AHL prospects i suppose if you want some sort of balance but i say acquiring Gourde is less of a gamble for MTL then leaving him where him in TBL is .
MTL he's playing infront of Family regularly and looking at his career splits his highest production is vs TML ,OTT,MTL and BUF all cities as close to home as possible .

Tatar-Danault-Gallagher #1
Drouin -Domi-Armia lock up #2
Gourde-Suzuki-Lehkonen #3
Cousins-Thompson-Poehling #4
Weise

As the bottom 3 develop we sell on our 4 UFA's Tatar,Danault, Gallagher and Armia if we're not in the playoffs next year .
Let Drouin-Domi-Poehling , Gourde-Suzuki-Lehkonen take over top 6.
