Description
Montour or Risto can be traded, but I would think Montour would have more value on the market-- Tuch is exactly what this team needs
Line 1: Honestly think this line would thrive, perfect blend of sniper, generational playmaker, and fast, physical, pass-first type
Line 2: I understand the argument that Mitts shouldn't be thrust into the 2C role again, and in all honesty, he isn't ready. If he is given a full summer to get stronger and faster, I can't see him falling flat playing alongside Skinner and Reino because they can both drive play
Line 3: Cozens slots in at 3C playing sheltered minutes to develop, I personally think he could play himself into 2C throughout the season. Ruotsalainen has shown enough in Finland that he is a capable middle 6 guy, and Johansson is finally playing on the 3rd line where he belongs
Line 4: Nothing too different from previous years, I've liked that line's shutdown role
Pair 1: Super young pairing but Joki has shown enough for me to start playing big minutes. He would have a more complementary defensive role to Dahlin
Pair 2: Risto is not a top pair defenseman, but him and Pilut have almost opposite skillsets and they have been a solid pairing in the past
Pair 3: Giving McCabe, who has been disappointing, and Miller pair 3 minutes I think can benefit both. Would be a great physical presence
Goaltending: As much as I want UPL, I still think he is a year out. Ullmark is the starter and Hutton and Johansson compete for backup
Others: Lazar is the perfect 13th forward and I like him a lot, he could even make the team out of camp but idk who he would replace in this lineup. Same thing with Rodrigues, but I think he would be a better trade chip. Thompson starts in AHL after his lengthy injury in the past year

I'd like to see Borgen or Samuelsson get a shot next season, probably over McCabe. Also, Jonas Johansson should get some time in net, we can trade Hutton and let Ullmark start

Why should Vegas move Tuch for this?

I’d think they’d get rid of Risto first over Montour, Montour is a perfect pairing with Dahlin or Risto. Then could be Joki and Pilut second then Miller and McCabe.

He's not. He's outlining a trade that requires additional value coming from Buffalo. I think Alex Tuch costs him Alex Holtz.

I think that his point is that Las Vegas is more likely to want Montour than Ristolainen. I can't disagree.

I think that what you've achieved here is pretty good. Add to this the return from Sheary, Vesey and Girgensons (however small) and you have the potential for improving vastly over this year. The only problem is that I think Tuch costs you the 2020 first.

I think Samuelsson is still a year out and yeah Borgen is probably ready, but I don't see him replacing Miller

It's a need for a need. VGK's best right shot defensman is a 37 year old Derrick Engelland... Plus Tuch has not produced much this year

Vegas has a locked in top 6 for at least the next 2 years- assuming Glass takes Stastny's spot at some point. Also VGK's best right shot defensman is a 37 year old Derrick Engelland

As much as it pains me to say it, I've liked Risto more than Montour this year. Montour's WAR and possession stats are actually worse than Risto's were last year shockingly

I feel like Vegas fans are acting as if Tuch has more than 7 goals and a -11 in 36 games this year... that's 3rd line numbers and his value is much lower than it used to be

The return from all of this year's UFA's will be low draft picks at best, so kind of irrelevant. I think Montour plus a prospect like Laaksonnen or Pekar would do it. I think his average play is in between his year last year (very good) and this year (very disappointing). I just can't see his value being astronomical
