so, an Arizona fan makes a troll trade post featuring the buffalo sabres because they are angry that the Leafs dont want to trade a 2nd liner for....let me guess a back up goalie?

adorable

Miller is third pairing guy who was scratched in 1/4 of games this year for Sabres.

Kap is a top 6 guy stuck behind a very good top 6.

As much as we all argue on this site I think most can agree on this.

100% this guy would also say Leaf fans are stupid because they value defenceman for where they play in the lineup on better teams. Which is exactly what he is doing with Kapanen above. You really can't fix stupid

Hmmm... looks like a few different fan bases came here to disagree with. Your plan seems to have back fired.

Kap is a 2nd line RW he's just stuck behind Marner and Nylander on the Leafs. It's called forward depth, I'll forgive the Arizona fan for being confused hasn't happened in the desert yet wink

Wingers on pace for 16 goals are not locked in top 6 wingers...sorry Leaf fans. Kap has a lot of tools and upside but right now he's rough around the edges often over skating; he's a good 3rd liner and a role player on a 2nd line. On good offensive teams he doesn't make the cut in the top 6.

Yeah, and Ilya Kovalchuk was scratched for 1/4 of the games last year. All that proves is that some coaches don't belong in the NHL.

Or GM's too spineless to say, "Look, I made an acquisition. Now you have to prove me right or wrong by playing him. If you don't, I'll find someone who will."

no, he's a 2nd line winger and your on pace goal obsession doesnt change that no matter how many times you use it. he's "on pace" for 16 goals while playing 3rd line minutes because the leafs have 2 first line RW ahead of him

Although I think Kapanen is good value at 3.2m and I like all aspects of his play, I really don' think he has great upside cause he isn't a natural goal scorer.
But don't like the trade cause Miller is not that dependable Dman. Easy to find the better value elsewhere.
Maybe the Arizona fan (there are so few) is peeved cause the the first place Coyotes made a deal to get Hall, and now it looks like they might miss the playoffs. And keep OEL and his long term contract too.

Vegas scratched him too and the eye test really doesn't help Miller either.

He's close to a 50 point pace getting 3rd line minutes, that translates to more points if given more of a chance. Thay guy just cherry picks stats to justify whatever idea hes pushing.

Lol this is so bad. Kapanen had 24 goals 2019 season. Collin Miller is trash. GO help your stupid bad Arizona team instead of bothering other teams.

I've watched him plenty. He's forcing the game and not letting it come to him. He's better defensively this year but offensively he's overskating a lot. He'll get better but the reality is he's on pace for 16 goals this year which is a 3rd liner.

I disagree. His defence is about the same. He is much more patient with the puck and has been way better with possession.

I see him still overskating, yes better with possession but still forcing the game. Either way, on most better offensive teams, he's not a top 6.

He's not a top 6 on offensively strong teams. Look at the Hawks, not exactly an offensive powerhouse; are you going to try to tell me he's better then Saad, Kane, Kubalik or Cat? Again, 16 goal scoring wingers are 3rd liners. It has nothing to do with the Leafs, it has to do with him not being a top 6 on good offensive teams. If he does get top 6 minutes, it's only to be filler.

Don't be such a homer thinking "he's really a top 6 but not on the Leafs because they are deep" lol and not to mention plenty of wingers play on their off side. Maybe Kap isn't good enough to do that!

i dunno how many times it has to be repeated. He is on a 16 goal pace, on the third line, getting 3rd line minutes, getting limited power play time. Last year, when he was given 2nd line time, he scored like a 2nd liner because, woah! he is a 2nd liner.
He has 2 less goals right now than Cat, who is playing top 6 mins, are you to tell me that Kapanen wouldnt have 2 more goals if he played the bulk of his year with better scorers? This isnt about being a homer, its about you not seeming to understand how these things work. And lots of wingers DONT play their offside, lots of really good ones dont, This is like saying Malkin is a 2nd liner because he's behind crosby and he obviously isnt good enough to play wing on the first line.

Cat has been getting mixed play between the 3rd and 2nd line, and even having a bad year for him, he's still on pace for more then 3 goals more then Kap and 58 points. Comparing Kap to Cat is not a comparison you are going to win.

Oh sure buddy; Kap would get more goals next to Matthews or Tavares, but take those guys away and what you get is what you see...IMAGINE THAT! smile Btw, he's getting 36 seconds less a game on average from last year...not really significant but what is significant is not playing next to Matthews or Tavares.

Kap is a middle 6 guy either a filler on the 2nd or a good 3rd liner...it's clear given his stats. NOW, he does have upside for sure, but he is what he is today.
