Yes and no. On paper Glass should end up being the better player, but right now he's not. Ask all Hawks fans how they feel about losing Danault. The fact that Danault is 26 and he could easily resign and that VGK has stocked up on center prospects, I would definetly not call this trade an impossibility.

I'll just respond on the WPG trade. Your transition game is freaking dreaful. Adding Weber and Petry is an undoubtful upgrade. If WPG hadn't stocked up on so many D prospects, I'd say this trade would be 100% wishful. But the surplus of D prospects makes losing Heinola and Niku digestible.

When you have an affordable top 6 with a decent bottom 6 you get away with it.

Ya but did you notice how many of those forwards will need an extension the year after? I need that extra 7.8 mill. I love Weber but I need to get younger. I'm not expecting playoffs right away after this rebuilt/retool/reset. Yes Pietrangelo is 30 but he'll still be useful by the time the youngsters are entering their prime. Krug and AP are the pillars till I see which of the D prospects (Brook, Fleury, Heinola, Niku, Romanov, Strubel, Harris, Norlinder, Juulsen) will make up the rest of my regulars on the remaining/ future D slots once Chiarot and Kulak are gone.

Blue's are irrelevant once AP becomes a UFA.

Krug will re-sign in Boston and even in worst-case, if he doesn't, he won't sign in Montreal. Keep dreaming

If i throw him 9 mill we'll see about that. He shouldn't have to take a discount just cause Marchand/Pasta/Berg make 6 mill.

No worries for that. He can very possibly retire before the contract is up and NSH is responsible for the majority of the recapturing penalty. Or they can use a compliance buyout on the next CBA if they see he's falling off the tracks fast. At this moment he's in the Norris discussion (Carlson will win) but him and Petry will most probably guarantee WPG playoffs at least for the next 2 yrs barring injuries ofcourse.

Ok great. Still doesnt change the fact that he doesn't want to play in Canada and thus he has every single one as part if his NTC. If the guy doesn't want to play in Canada now, how does him being a UFA change that?

Eh? Setting aside that Petro could get that contract in St. Louis, you also have a trade with the Blues up there.

Cause money talks hehe! But in all seriousness, if that's 100% accurate in his heart no matter the $$, then I'll just have to wing it. Play the youngsters worst case scenario.
