Wings pass. A cap dump, a marginal player and a better pick from us and you want Glendening. Wings were asking for 3rd last year. This trade is bad for us and helps Leafs with cap.

doesnt really help the leafs with the cap, the savings this year are a non-issue and Ceci is a UFA, this gives then an expensive 4th liner they 100% do not need next year and that doesnt help at all this year. Ceci, hilariously enough, is more valuable to the Leafs because he actually fills a need right now. The Leafs have a dozen guys who can do what Glendening can do for half the price right now

Leafs don't want to trade a roster player. But they've spent so much money on their top 6 that it's hard to imagine how they'll be able to solve their problems in net as well as their anemic defense with what they have left. Georgiev isn't just a good option for them, it's almost perfect. Kapanen is an overpay right now but I think the consensus is that Georgiev will at least be a 1B.
