Very interesting....

Just to be clear, are you proposing Leddy play as a forward or they just carry 7 defenseman and rotate guys in?

I’m suggesting that they start the lines like this and if it’s not working they just go to a 7 D rotation

Interesting.

It's really rare that defensemen get used straight-up as forwards. I know I've suggested it before on here with Erik Gustafsson and it got shot down pretty quick. I love hockey, but I've never played it or had the game coached to me, but from what I can gather, its difficult for defensemen to play forward and vice-versa, which is why even the most defensively-challenged defensemen usually end up staying on the blueline.

All of that said, it's a really fascinating idea to me. I'd love to see if there are defensemen out there who could handle it and I wonder if there are some who would be better because of it. I'm in no way opposed to giving it a try; as a fan I'm really curious to see it tried more regularly. I doubt Trotz of all coaches is the one to try it though

i'd rather see aho up on the third line.
