Depends on how much Nurse wants $$ if he’s good with a long terms contract at 6M AAV I’ll do it, if he wants more, I’ll keep Domi

That's a tough one for Edmonton. If Domi was scoring like he was last season, Edmonton would take it and run. But his consistency has been an issue this year, and his goal scoring has been very streaky. Nurse is a 5v5 beast. One of the best point producing dmen at 5v5 and he's just solid all around. Fast skating, 6'4", making smarter plays with the puck than he used to, big minute muncher, and he seems to improve every single year. Right now, I'd have to say Edmonton passes, but its tempting

Somehow, I think playing with either McDavid or Draisaitl would even out his streakiness.

Thanks for the input!

Edmonton just doesn't have a lot of horses on the blue line can they really spare him for more offense. There are cheaper options on the wings to help them I think.

Yes, this is what I'm getting at. To quote a Presidential candidate, I have a plan for that. It will shock you. Just focus on the Montreal effect for right now.

Edmonton should absolutely take this deal, Sure Domi is not on a 70pt pace playing with developing talent, in Edmonton he's on the left side of McD or Dria and 70 pts each is more than reasonable, Oilers have LHD prospect depth (that are right there ready to step in) or would be able to find a capable LHD to play 2nd pairing for around the 3/4 million mark through FA or Trade. This should be a no brainer for Edmonton and Montreal.

Don't worry about Edmonton. I'm replacing Nurse with someone better.

What left side defensemen does Edmonton have that are ready to jump into the top 4? Broberg is probably 2 years out from being ready. Samorukov has struggled in the AHL, and Caleb Jones isn't too consistent, and he prefers to play on the right side anyways. Finding a way to replace Nurse in free agency will be harder than finding a winger to play with McDavid in free agency. There are lots of fast scoring wingers that could be signed in the offseason, not as many 6'4" defenseman who can play like Nurse.

I'm getting a #1 LhD from another team who's better than Klefbom. And all it will cost is Edmonton's 2020 first, Matthew Benning and Evan Bouchard. But this is a Montreal post, remember? Your job isn't to object to this trade on Edmonton's behalf. And that goes for @Boomer125 opining on it, too.
