Think it’s mainly the fact that if one of the playoff contenders has of wanted him a month ago, they could have.

"playing well" is a lose term here?

Honestly I watched the MTL CBJ game today. All the guy does is cherry pick. He doesn't play defense. You can't win games with guys like that especially in the playoffs.

I've only watched a few games since he signed with the Habs but he was excellent in those games, saying that I think the most the Habs will get for him if he's traded is a 3rd round pick.

A lot of the hatred for him is cause he's Russian.

And a further lot of the hatred for him was created by people in Los Angeles trying to advance an excuse for misusing him.

Note that even factoring in his stint earlier with the Kings, he's still a pace for 23 goals and 52 points if he'd been able to play a full season. As it is, assuming he tails off and records points at an 80% rate of what he's already banked this year, he'll end with about 9 goals and 25 points, which isn't bad for exactly half a season.

Wow we actually agree on something!!! That’s how you know something is 100% true if we both agree on it

His value has gone up not 100% due to his play but more the fact that he is now making minimum wage to go along with being half productive. He gets a third round pick easily. Second could be a stretch but if a team gets desperate

You just described some of the best players to play the game.
