I could see Joseph plus Tampa's first plus a conditional 4th that becomes a 3rd if Tampa goes far enough, but Gourde likely doesn't waive and not sure Tampa wants/needs Smith. If Tampa is willing to change their usual philosophy of not trading 1sts for rentals, there could be something there.

Kreider, as we know, will demand a first-round pick and a decent prospect. But Mathieu Joseph isn't a prospect. He has NHL experience, something I think the team would value going forward. I mean, New York could negotiate a contract extension with Chris Kreider and then trade him to Tampa.

Kreider=Joseph, 1st, and a conditional 4th that can become a third.
