This cannot happen FYI - Not sure if typo but NYR can only retain 50% of salary. They cannot retain all.

Rangers would only retain 50% of Kreider’s deal. $2,312,500. I personally think it’s a little to much for Kreider but in the Blues position it’s not bad for another cup run.

Yeah Pierre doesn't know what he's talking about here. We're not trading Kyrou for a rental if we didn't trade him for five years of ROR. We also don't need anyone to retain salary on any player who makes less than Tarasenko's salary, because he's on LTIR (and if he comes back we don't have the cap space to trade for anyone at all, which could be a reason we stand pat at the deadline). Also pure rentals are stupid, so there's that

Idk, it's pretty bad IMO. A first and an organization's top prospect? We do not need Krieder that badly, we're top of the west by a decently wide margin.

Sorry, misread the 50% retainment addition. I have since revised it, LeBrun suggests NYR retains half of his contract, or $2.3125 million.
