The Bobfather reported that Byfuglien and the Jets are nearing a mutual contract termination. This will give the Jets more salary cap clarity for the future.

What a nightmare season this has Benn for the Jets. At the very least, they can target a top 4 D in free agency. They'll finally have some much needed cap space and the Buff saga might actually be a blessing in disguise if they can erase his cap hit w/o incurring any penalties. They're still a pretty dangerous team moving forward with a ton of high end skill up front.
