I need some clarification from Leafs fans

Description
This is regarding Dreger's comments. Please rank the following Leafs players: Sandin, Kapanen, Johnsson.

All Dreger reported was that a NYR exec said they would not trade Georgiev for Sandin. That might just mean that NYR do not want a prospect for Georgiev; they want more of a proven talent like Kapanen or Johnsson. Please do not attack me for suggesting a move involving Kapanen or Johnsson; I am only suspecting that this is what NYR is asking for to start negotiations.

Also, doesn't NYR have A LOT of young defenders? They may be more interested in getting a forward back in a Georgiev trade

Lol that can’t be true. NYR would take that and run if they were offered sandin for Georgiev

First of all, ignore Dreger.

Secondly,
Where they are today:
Kappy-Johnsson
Sandin

Their potential:
Sandin
Kappy
Johnsson

Geo isn't worth any of them straight up and it isn't close, even suggesting sandin (apparently he asked Gorton if sandin would do it) erases any remaining credibility he has.

Dubas would be fired had he moved any of the 3 for him.

Sandin has highest potential by far
Kapanen close after in value
Johnsson last, still way too high of a price

Sandin is the leafs Kravstov, you can imagine that being ridiculous to give for a backup (Even with potential)

1) TML doesnt need a "supposedly No1 Goalie", they will re-sign Andersen at 4 x 7,5M, so they need a cheap kid that showed he can handle the big bois, someone that will come cheap like DeSmith, Campbell or even Dell if SJS gave up on him.....

2) NYR can keep sending Champagne Boxes to Dreger and live in their dream about how 3,09 GAA Backup will bring them Kapanen + 1st

Thats about all clarification you need regarding Sandin, Kapanen and Johnsson.....

Well my point was only that a NYR exec saying that would not do that deal may not mean that it's not enough; Dreger never said that the value was lacking. Dreger only said that a NYR exec said that they would not do that deal; they may have other interests and Sandin is not one of them. They may want an established winger instead. And asking for a Kapanen or Johnsson is simply a starting price; does not mean NYR's reservation price is that high. But I think Leafs fans saw that as NYR saying that it was not enough, but that may not be what his report meant.

Let's put it this way. The leafs don't need another centre, but if someone offered us Cirelli for woll, the answer is yes 9000x over

It's reasonable to believe NYR management believe in defensemen coming up in the pipeline (Miller, Lundkvist), and would prefer to focus on wingers. I just think the leafs fans that have come out freaking out about this are overreacting. Also, what incentive does the NYR have to say other than to up the price as much as he can? I just think everyone is reading into this too much.

It's less about the Rangers and more about Dreger asking the question and then reporting it at all

Sandin is untouchable.

Dreger is moron and should be ignored.

I wouldnt move any of 3 guys you named for Georgiev straight up.
Only way Rangers get Johnsson or Kapanen is with Georgiev+, and the Leafs need is D... not a FW

Forget what Dreger or a NYR exec said and think about what backup goalies have been traded for in the past.

Now think of how many games Georgiev would start for the rest of the season with Andersen being the starter (yes I know he's injured right now but the Leafs aren't ruling him out of starting Friday vs Anaheim or even early next week)? Between 10-13 games?

Sorry...not worth trading Kapanen or Johnsson.

Exactly, Georgiev is right now a backup.
Period.

No ifs, ands, or buts.

I doubt that Ranger executive would tell Dreger the truth..... More probable is that Dreger is just making up this crap, so he is portrayed as a "insider"
