this again leads me to believe you didn't play competitive hockey

This has to be some sort of logical fallacy. You don't need to have played hockey to understand the game.

It can help, but it can also create biases that hinder.

Playing competitive hockey is an avenue to understanding the game, but making it some sort of pre-requisite, or automatically assuming someone who played some form of hockey is going to understand the game better than someone who didn't is logically incorrect, and means a lot of people would throw out very useful information if they always threw out info, ideas and arguments that came from someone who hasn't played.

I don't think it's unfair to assume that the average person who's played hockey understands the game better than the average person who hasn't.

I was more or less chirping buddy cause all he does is plug stats in his replies and think he's correct, stats don't always tell the full story.

Only in Maple Leaf land would a trade for a backup goalie and a gritty bottom 6 forward result in 6 pages of comments...

Now that the conditions are public this is a huge win for LA. TML must ride Hutchison in hopes Campbell fails to win 6 games.
They will probably make the playoffs so the conditional 3rd becomes a 2nd. Moore and two thirds* for a grinder and a backup? Yikes!

Ok at first glance I chuckled a bit... I must admit! But when you consider how deprived Leafs Nation has been for the last 50 years what else do we have?

because Leafs fan think this pushes them over the top, when in reality, it barely even improves them.

Look through the draft board. 3rd round picks arent that valuable. Its not that often that 3rd round picks end up making the NHL.
Leafs have a log jam on their LW depth chart and Moore hasnt been anything that special since returning from injury.

This is like if you were in an argument and God came down to say how wrong you are

Well if you're still in a playoff spot after losing your best defenseman, two first line caliber forwards, and your starting goaltender for extended periods of time, not to mention having a coach that went below .500 maybe you will keep that playoff spot. Now, I would like to ask you, did you enjoy wasting the career of the best goalie of a generation?

I like how you think that other teams don't have injuries. As Kyle Dubas said last week, Toronto is very fortunate for the limited number of injuries they've had this year, but keep trying to push your narrative.

You're pushing that we wasted the career of Price, but Toronto hasn't made it past the 1st round in how long? What has Toronto actually done besides barely squeaking into a playoff spot and then falling flat on their face?

Its not like Toronto has a 30+ year old semigenerational talent that was wasted. Also, how many other teams had a below 500 coach, with a team that after the coach was fired has gone 20-9-4? And Anderson is the most important player on this team. The leafs with hutch in are comparable to the wings, and after getting to a playoff spot without atequate backup goaltending, I'm sure they will keep it.

So could the same thing be argued about Toronto? They did/are wasting Andersen's prime. I don't know why you are arguing this. Toronto is currently wasting everybody's time on the roster. They have done nothing. There is no argument here.

That's fine! I love watching the Leafs lose, and they do it often

Well I mean... they have still won a majority of their games this year so idk how you can say "often"...

I'm not talking about individual games. I'm talking about losing in an entirety. Haven't done anything in 50 Years

Is Anderson a generational talent? Also Toronto is one of the youngest teams so idk what you are talking about. Also, is Montreal not wasting everyone's time? Its been 27 years bud, nobody from the old cup runs has played hockey for 30+ years.

Habs haven't done anything in a while either. The 70s were 40-50 years ago, all Habs fans boast about this, but a lot of them were not even alive during that time.

Montreal has made the playoffs and gotten out of the 1st round more than Toronto has. Is Toronto not wasting Rielly's prime? Both teams have done **** all in the past 25 years. Didn't the Leafs waste Sundin's potential?

Comparing to Toronto in the past decade (2009-2010 - 2018-2019)

Playoff appearances
Toronto: 4
Montreal: 6

Playoff Round Wins
Toronto: 0
Montreal: 5

Just because Toronto is a regular season team

Regular Season Division WIns
Toronto: 0
Montreal: 3

Toronto hasn't came anywhere Montreal in terms of success in the past 10 years.
