do you think the extension will harm them next year in terms of finding cap

I really like the deal for the Leafs as think Cambell has alot of upside and Clifford is going to add lot of toughness to 4th line and will be make other teams think twice towards hitting the Leafs skilled players. Dubas also knows both of these two players very well and think they will also fit in well on Leafs with also each of them knowing Muzzen.

Nope. And I think they would extend both Muzzin and Clifford as well. They would look at trading Johnsson/Kapanen+Dermott for D who does not have high cap space but (maximum 5M AAV) has term.

My guess (now with Mikheyev and Clifford as grinders on LWs ) is Hyman, Barrie, Kerfoot, Dermott and Holl with picks ( and hopefully they will be able to squeeze Ceci in ) will create two trades for top 4 RHDs.....

About Lines, Engvall strikes me as better C then Kerfoot, tho he will need to have extra hours with Spezza 1 on 1 for Faceoffs.....

freeing 4,5M to pay another D man that will not be lost in his own zone like Ceci is in 75% of his Games.

Hiw could you not live this deal both ways. Moore goes home and Toronto gets another option at backup and someone to chuck knucks.

I’m not so sure about re signing Clifford but I’m sure they would consider it if he fits well or if the condition on the pick is met by Campbell.

Sammy, I think you're a very knowledgeable fan and if I were a TOR fan...I'd be trying to look at all the up sides too. The reality is that the conditional part is just way too easy to get and a 2nd round pick...That could be Nick Robertson...right??? He was drafted in the 2nd, and not even the early 2nd.

I would like the toughness. I actually would NOT like Jack Campbell and his .900 SV% despite actually playing in front of a statistically better defense than TOR......and wait, he comes with 2 more years...@ $1.6M??? LAK just gave you their garbage because they saw Dubas literally panicking... and you possibly gave them Nick Robertson for it. YES, TOR is tougher. Was it worth it?

Meh trade for toronto, great trade for Kings. Peterson is leaps and bounds better than campbell. Clifford probably wasnt getting resigned. so they turned a backup goalie and a 4th line rental into potentially a 3rd liner and a potential 2nd round pick. Thats fantastic. On Torontos side, it adds "toughness" but one guy isnt going to solve your toughness problem. it takes a team mentality. After last night im not sure why they are trading assets to compete now. the defense is still garbage.

Giving up on talent like trevor Moore is a huge mistake. I dont know why dubas would give up this much for what he did. Easily could have traded ceci instead

I think Ceci is better than people realize.
