How can you possibly think a C goalie prospect a career 3 liner and a first gets Rakell?

Did Anaheim not trade Montour last year for a B ish prospect and a 1st? Considering Rakell is older, has only 13 goals and about as many assists, I feel like this is a decent return.

Point is not a C prospect, he's a solid goalie with a legitimate chance at an NHL job. Cogs was a fan favourite in Anaheim. This is not at all a bad offer.

This is a brutal offer, We need top 6 offense and we are trading that away and not getting another need back, Teams usually fill needs in trades not subtract from them

We have Gibson we don’t need a goalie prospect

Being a fan favourite doesn’t give him value, we don’t need a goalie prospect and we have one better than point anyways in Dotsal

This offer doesn’t get you close to Rakell

Your team is on the rebuild. You need picks and prospects. What point is there in keeping a 27 y/o who's on the decline?

Yes, you have Gibson but who after him? No one really. Point is a good goalie, he made TC's roster a few years ago and was stellar. He's made progress in the AHL, he's just not going to win a job with Oettinger being there.

Look at every trade recently. Look what Taylor Hall went for. The Coyotes didn't even have to give up any top prospects! For 2018 MVP Hall. And you think Rakell should go for something like that? He's a 2nd line C at best.

So much wrong here I don’t know where to start

We have two great goalie prospects in Dotsal and Eriksson Ek both better than Point, and Gibson is 26 signed for 8 years we don’t need a prospect on top of what we have

Hall is a rental Rakell is on a great deal for 2 more seasons completely different scenarios

Rakell is young enough to be a leader in the next Ducks team to compete were closer than people think

Also Rakell isn’t a NHL centre he never has been

Minimum we trade Rakell for is a top prospect and a 1st we have no reason to move him for less when he fills one of our biggest needs at the moment

A Rakell deal includes Dellandrea & our 1st Round pick. And given the system that Dallas utilizes, Rakell is going to struggle offensively just like everyone else in Dallas. I don't trade away the few valuable assets Dallas has for a guy that's not going to bring us any closer to a Cup.
