How is Dumba at 50% retained for another 3 years at all realistic? No team would retain that much for that long -- come on. Why would MIN do that with 0 impact players coming back?

Tell me once again how this addresses Minnesota's needs?

I don't think Dumba is the answer to the Leafs D woes. He's more of an offensive defenceman: https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/d/dumbama01.html. I know some don't put loads of stock in advanced stats but those metrics don't reflect well on Dumba. His deployment in Minny seems to suggest that his coaches don't have a lot of confidence in him on the defensive side as he has a higher % of Ozone starts to Dzone starts. Dumba is another Tyson Barrie, is he good? Of course he is. But I don't think he's the right kind of player to fix the Leafs back end.
