I think Erik Gustafsson for $600k cap hit would fit nicely here. We could take a cap hit back if you want, but don't really need to if you want to keep the team together.

So it would be Gustaffson with retained salary, for let's say Eakin, Holden, or Merrill and then what else? Picks/prospects wise.

I can't help but wonder if DeBoer is lobbying for Dillon.

I don't think Dillon would be the worst move, but I think there's better moves out there for Vegas.

I'd do Eakin or Holder or Merrill...whatever you want there...and then how about that NJD 2nd? Heck if you want to ditch all (3) I think we could make something else work out too.

Agreed. A better puck mover and faster skater for starters. But Pete knows Dillon better than anyone so there could be a bias there possibly. I think a VGK trade goes down to the TDL wire though...two more weeks for Pete to get his systems better implemented and then determine what they lack the most.

I think I'd do that. Eakin and the NJD 2nd for Gustaffson 50% retained. Then Vegas can make another move with the leftover cap.

I think since Whitecloud has come in, there's not a need for a lockdown Dman as much anymore, so someone like Gustaffson I'd prefer over Dillon.

Whitecloud has looked like a 10 year vet out there.....very impressed. Poised, patient, good decisions and good execution...almost even seems like a calming presence back there (all that with a measly 3 NHL games on his resume).
