It would have to include the 2020 1st round pick (instead of the 2022 2nd). It also depends on the direction Florida goes if they don't make the playoffs/don't have a deep run. The thought of an Ekblad - Nurse top 2 is interesting for Florida, though

What makes you think he's perfect for McDavid? McDavid seems to works best with bigger guys who can win board battles and create space by physicality - although we've never really seen him with quick, high-skill types.

I think he'd also have to be good defensively and have a good shot to be the perfect compliment. Someone like Rakell maybe? Ehlers?

I guess I'm going back to how Jari Kurri complimented Gretzky.

still has one more season on a very reasonable contract.
he isn't a rental, this one would be a hockey trade.

he has scored 20 goals in everyone full season he has played pro except for his rookie year...he scored 19.
