Not enough for Alex Pietrangelo, On the open market he'll easily get 7 x 9.5 No way Pietrangelo takes $8M per he'll stay in St Louis for that.

Two things are wrong with this:

1) Piet will make $9M+ easy.

2) Two headed RHD monsters has proven not to work, look at SJS with Burns and Karlsson. It's just overkill, no need to do that. Much rather have a lot of cap space than sign Piet.

But I like your spirit.

I'll skip commenting on the Pietro contract, and instead bring up that after next season, we'll need to extend contracts to Alex Ovechkin, Jakub Vrana, and Ilya Samsonov. That money going to Pietro really hamstrings the Caps.

Thanks for the constructive criticisms!

I adjusted the PIetro contract and dumped the Kempny contract. I'm still not exactly sure where to pin down Siegenthaler, seeing as if he does develop into a top 4 D he'll probably command more than 1.2, yes?

I fully expect Oshie to play for Seattle in 21-22, and hopefully that will free up space to keep one of Vrana or Samsonov. They will probably have to dump further salary to do so, and that's something MacLellan has shown the ability to do.

I definitely see your point, Clock, and I am just kind of exploring the idea of the Capitals making a surprising splash in FA this year.
