Ottawa does not...I repeat...does not want Ceci back. He's yours now, unless you want to part with next years 1st as well...

The Edmonton trade is awful for the Leafs. & the Ottawa trade is awful for the Sens.

Simplify it more. Larsson isn't that great. Can probably do a deal straight up for Johnsson at the draft (Edmonton adds a mid round pick of Larsson doesn't come with an extension)
& could probably get Demelo for a 2nd but that wouldn't be smart for the Leafs since they wouldn't have a pick till the 4th round then

For the Larsson Trade I would move Johnsson and Bracco. Leave Pool party alone. That should be more than enough.

nothing wrong with Pool Party that a proper amount of time on the Marlies couldn't fix.
So many Oilers prospects were rushed into the show before being ready, problems should have been the expected result

And Larsson is not very good, what's your point?
Leafs are looking to improve their team not throw Edmonton a bone out of pity

And Larsson has not achieved or succeeded at a level that warrants a Kapenen ask

He's LTIR now, out indefinitely lol, so no need to move him or worry about his cap hit

We are looking for the next "Rielly Whisperer", a more defensively oriented player with a physical edge

The point is that there is only so much puck to go around
remember the '84 Oilers?? Coffey Fogolin Gregg Huddy Lowe Smith - 3 excellent puck handlers, the other 3 not as good
D pairs need complementary characteristics - and fit under a cap

It's still an overpayment

Kapenen > Larsson
Barrie >>> Pooli

Niether Kap or Barrie are cap dumps
Pool party has little to no value to the leafs

Here's my counter offer

Larsson + Benson to Leafs
Kapenen to Oilers

Edmonton does NOT want Johnsson. He has just 2 5v5 goals this year despite playing over 75% of the time with Matthews, and much of that with Nylander on the other wing. That's AHL-level scoring right there.

Dump him on someone else.

Neither Johnsson nor Bracco has much value. No interest from Edmonton - especially at the deadline.

What are you smoking? Johnsson was hurt and has played most of the time on the 3rd line with rotating centres. He'd actually be a great fit in Edmonton alongside either of McDavid or Draisaitl

Barrie >>> Pooli

laugh

Barrie is a pending UFA who isn't having a great season. No way Holland gives up JP for a meh 3rd pairing rental.

Barrie is a 50 pt defense man, if the Leafs move him it's not for some oiler bust but for a pick in the draft where the Leafs generally hit not miss

I think most Leafs fans don't realise that Barrie is getting the most sheltering from elite comp the coaches can manage and even that is overwhelming him. He really doesn't have much value as a rental. Of course, you can always hope someone will overpay on reputation / name recognition.
