Hey Flames fans,

What would it take from the Leafs to get a deal done for Travis Hamonic and Sam Bennett (preferably with 30-50% salary retained)?

There have been rumours that the Flames are working the phones to trade Bennett, and of course the Flames also have Travis Hamonic, who Dubas allegedly tried to acquire in a Kadri trade last year that Kadri blocked.

So, what would a trade of Hamonic + Bennett need from the Leafs to be viable for Calgary? Would Kapanen + Bracco be a return that piques interest, as the team currently struggles to score goals? I understand that trading Hamonic would weaken the defence, but it is possible that a deal can still get done: perhaps the Leafs can send over Dermott, a middle of the road LHD, who is fast, can check, and is decent offensively, but struggles at defensive zone coverage in the current Leafs system (especially as he plays second pair minutes with Tyson Barrie, as opposed to 3rd pair minutes).

What kind of picks would need to go back and forth? As a Leafs fan, I should be interested in Hamonic, and while Bennett is having a bad season, I've always been a big fan of his game and effort.
