I like Trouba a lot. I dont think MTL even needs him. Skjei being LHD is more useful for MTL.

Skjei + Lemieux vs Domi is pretty decent, I think NYR should add more since Skjei play isn’t great but I wont be mad

actually its quite the opposite now with 4 standout LD prospects behind Mete followed by 3-4 longshots
our RD due to Juulsens likely career ending injury as well as Brook struggling hard to make the jump from Junior to Pro
this leaves MTL with Weber , Petry,Fleury and thats about it for the next 2-3 years .

with Weber playing great but being injured a lot having Trouba makes sense especially if god forbid we cant re-sign Petry as there's no one to replace him in time


if Romanov wasnt about to go on back to back Gagarin cup runs likely capturing his 2nd straight cup before 20 to end the year before joining MTL next year .. sure
maybe then we'd take a declining Skjei with a bad cap and term for MTL

Domi is gonna cost about 7mil to extend so the contract stuff is a wash. It seems fair assuming the extension is already in place.

Good job for watching our system and actually getting that behind Fleury there's nobody currently .
whether he likes it or not Trouba played his best hockey in the same Situation MTL is in with him behind two great RD players getting older who will give him minutes.
Trouba if he over achieve's could also put MTL in a position to sell on Petry for a Profit using him to acquire a top RD prospect MTL doesnt have as Brook is starting to look like a Brian Sakic and less of a Joe .

Domi plays in a big market with their team that's 2 years ahead of us on the rebuild and will be a playoff team soon enough .

Habs would definitely need Trouba more. We have very little organizational RHD depth, but the complete opposite on the left side.
