almost an overpayment for a guy whos -35... he's not an all-star and the wings get another young prospect in their pool for the future

So a cap dump, two low picks and a player that has a history that is not all that great is an overpayment. No, it is just not a package that the Wings are looking at for AA. You site his +-, if this a problem for you, then why trade for AA. If you have justify a trade by sitting a players short comings then why trade for him in the 1st place?

Ok let’s look past the year where the redwings are complete garbage and go back one year. He killed it. He is young and very skilled. And your offer is a player who will never play for your org again, a 5th and 6th round pick and kris Russell who I would consider a cap dump.
No disrespect you just need to look past this one bad season on a historically bad team and look at the player as a whole.

ah yes lets look at plus minus, a grade of the team (for teams not in playoff hunt), on the worst team in the league, to determine trade value. That's like me saying that you should be hired based on the number of pennies in your wallet right now.

Russell at this point is a cap dump. Negative or par value. It's an OK idea to throw him in to get cap clearance, but he's not a feature. Essentially becomes AA for Jesse. Jesse has been alright in the LIIGA tbf, but teams are skeptical about him. They won't give market value.

AA's value is down... you're right, but considering Kyle Clifford just got a pretty similar package, you're short by about the value of a first. (can be two seconds)

i think he is worth the combined value of a first. I don't see any teams dropping the literal first though. Remember, he IS an RFA, and stays with the team beyond this year.

Your not getting AA for anything less than a 2nd and one of Rodrigue or samorukov, anything less then that and wings hold onto him and not trade him. He's a RFA and they can just keep him and don't have to trade him. I'll take Russell back as a cap dump but the deal is above or no deal and mcdavid can keep his ****ty wingers

I’m still not taking If I’m the red wings but it’s not as bad as before.
But I also don’t understand why the red wings would be shopping him in the first place.
Probably depends on how they value Puljujärvi cuz the 5th and russell are toss ins. If they think he can be a top 6 guy I think they’d take it if they don’t see that then probably not.

Yeah he's definitely worth a late 1st, Holland thinks that Puljujarvi is worth a 2nd+B level prospect. Right now AA's value is a lot more then a guy that has very little NHL experience and can hardly crack the Oilers lineup on a nightly basis.
