i like the players aquired but i'd rather send BUF a 3rd for Miller then play fleury at 2nd pair .

Tatar-Danault-Gallagher(agreed)
Drouin-Suzuki-Armia(disagreed)
Lehkonen-Kotkanemi-Foligno(disagreed)
Foligno-Evans-Byron (disagreed)
Cousins

Murray-Petry (disagreed)
Chiarot-Weber (disagreed)
Kulak -Benning (agreed)
Oulette

Price(Agree)
Primeau (disagree)

Foligno's should be spread out as they're to heavy to stay together
teams with speed will walk all over us .

Balance them out with Lehkonen and Byron's aggressive checking with 2 Centers who like to shoot and you'll find success.
plus it gives MTL 2 players capable of scrapping who can also produce offense and are locker room leaders .

Murray's the perfect balance of stay at home D and playmaker to spring Petry on his odd man rushes and cover him if they go wrong .
Chiarots better beside Weber as his physical nature and ability to eat minutes allows Shea to shoot more often as he's no longer last player in on the rush he can trust Chiarot to cover it.
Oulette shouldnt be in the AHL but there's no 6th D i assume in anticipation of Romanov coming at which point Kulak will return to his role as 7th D

we give up a lot but we would have players who can compete and protect our players .
i suppose with Puljujarvi having a great year oversea's it makes it worth it as he'd be the cherry on top and ideal player to play middle 6 RW with Armia .

I’m not sure Columbus is going to trade their team captain at the deadline going into a playoff run....

Love the return just not seeing the captain leave. frown. It don’t matter, he’d never waive out of cbus unless it was home to the sabers and they’d have to be good.)

I can understand that is somewhat odd to ask for Foligno at this time but if both team fails it could be a good reboot for both. I also assume to reunite the Foligno's for sake to bolster next year run. Dalhstrom and Domi will really be loved by cbj's fans they are top prime kids.

I'm creating a part 2 today i will publish it in few minutes !!

Off the top of my head :in the past 5 year or so

Martin St Louis
Ryan Callahan
Jason Pommenville

then there's atleast another half dozen like Phaneuf , Alfredson ,Iginla , Morrow ,Streit, ext .

It happens more often then you'd think when the new core pushes out the old core mostly but there is a couple cases where playoff teams trade their captains.
It really depends on who's in their system to replace them .

Pommenville was gone as soon as Parise showed up his days were numbered.
St.Louis had the Triplets line , Stamkos, Kucherov and Drouin in the mix
Callahan had his shot to lead NYR to a cup and despite still playing well at the time NYR valued St Louis higher offensive upside and PP numbers .

all that said you might be right but ask yourself , would anyone choose to stay in the NHL's smallest market ?
especially given the lack of success come playoffs they've had since their inception with only 2 series wins vs VGK 3 series wins in their first year .

CBJ doesnt have the commitment it takes to be a cup winner IMO
you get what you invest into a product and until last year CBJ didnt invest anything resembling a contender .

I agree that captains have been traded before but like what is that, we don’t have the commitment. I can agree in the first 10 years but in recent memory it’s a lazy narrative that needs to die.
