Should never put much faith in what an AHL team does...and what it means for NHL prospects. But Ottawa seems to have some legit NHL prospects as you suggest and with lots of draft picks in the next two years...Ottawa could quickly be playoff contenders again.

I agree with the first statement, but I don't think there's usually an AHL team this young doing this well. It's at least a sign that the sens are going to have a fantastic supporting cast in the long run. Batherson, Brown, Norris and Brannstrom are pretty high-end pieces, but how fast the process takes will depend on who they get with the 2 lottery picks. Those are going to be huge, adding to the main core of Chabot and Tkachuk.

Puljujärvi can’t sign an NHL contract for this season. And even if he could I doubt he’d go to the AHL before his season in Finland is done this year.
