Eichel is 6 years younger and has a higher ceiling with a lower cap hit. Buffalo would be stupid to offer this deal; Toronto will be stupid to reject it.

Either way, it never happens because Botterill isn't THAT stupid (right?), and Tavares wouldn't waive his NMC

1- no, he doesn’t
2- Sabres would want the main asset coming back to be younger than JT
3- JT would not waive to come here for this deal
4- No way Buffalo trades Eichel to a rival
