Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. 2021 6th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Why a 2021 late pick instead of a 2020 5th you say? With the plethora of picks in the 2020 draft, Bergevin will likely look at getting an asset that lasts into next season. As a future trade chip as need be, which is of higher value than another late rounder in the 2020 draft.
2.
MTL
  1. Galchenyuk, Alex
  2. Poulin, Samuel
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Conditional 2nd rounder in 2021. If Tatar either resigns with the Pens or they reach the Conference Finals in either seasons, the 2nd round pick becomes a top 10 protected 2021 1st rd pick.
PIT
  1. Tatar, Tomas
Additional Details:
Reasoning for the Pens is having Crosby, Malkin, & Letang force the GM`s hands to make one last push at a cup.
3.
MTL
  1. 2020 1st round pick (TBL)
  2. 2020 1st round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
With the recent injuries to McDonagh & Rutta, and their core group pushing for a cup, TBL goes out and outbids all other teams on the market by offering two first round picks.
TBL
  1. Petry, Jeff ($2,750,000 retained)
Additional Details:
MTL retains 50% of Petry`s contract.
4.
MTL
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Edmonton goes after scoring help, hoping to have Galchenyuk turn his career around.
EDM
  1. Galchenyuk, Alex ($2,450,000 retained)
5.
MTL
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Conditional 3rd rd pick that becomes a 2nd round pick if Kovalchuk plays in at least 50% of the games until the end of the season and Boston reaches the 2nd round of the playoffs.
6.
MTL
  1. 2020 2nd round pick (CGY)
CGY
  1. Scandella, Marco ($2,000,000 retained)
  2. 2020 5th round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
With the recent injuries to Calgary`s defense, the team goes out and gets a rental on the market.

Just a question. Don't the Canadians have plenty of good young players where they shouldn't worry about bulking up on draft picks anymore?

They have great depth at every positions moving forward, but they still lack some of that elite talent coming up the pipeline.

Many are of the opinion that one last big draft to shore up the prospect pool could be the key to long-term competitiveness for the team.

Tatars trade should have a 1st not a 2nd.

Petrys trade is interesting, the value is fair only question would be if Tampa wanted to send a contract so they free up a little more space for next year.

Tatar`s trade is already a 1st (Poulin) + 2nd + 3rd (Galchenyuk) which was his previous selling price from Detroit to Vegas. My thinking is the 2nd upgrades to a first only they go deep into the playoffs or resign him.

Poulin projects to be a 3rd liner unless his skating significantly improves, Galchenyuk is a rental that teams dont want (otherwise he would have been traded already) and a 2nd that's going to be late.

So ya, that second would have to jump to a 1st so MTL gets a 2nd pick in the top 31
