Leafs situation is not as bad as people make it out

Created by: DocArin0
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 8, 2020
Published: Feb. 8, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
While TOR still needs RHD. When Riley returns which from reports seems to be during mid april (during playoffs) TOR should be able to make this type of move without working about cap for Riellys return. This trade makes sense in Logic for both teams BUF has excess RHD with TOR having excess F prospects. picks could be adjusted as needed but the base of the trade would be Stotts, Bracco + for Miller + Depth player/4-5th Round Pick
Trades
TOR
  1. Miller, Colin
  2. 2020 4th round pick (BUF)
BUF
  1. Bracco, Jeremy
  2. Stotts, Riley [Reserve List]
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (TOR)

Jeremy (Tyler Biggs) Bracco will never make the NHL stardom, he is a forever go nowhere prospect who is tossed around in trade conversations.

I think the main piece in this trade would be Stotts whom has looked has really good this year in the WHL. Would be very interested to see how he does in the AHL next season.

Every time T.Biggs comes to conversation i just want to kick Burke in the face....multiple times.....dork actually traded Rakell and Gibson to move up....and picked Biggs......

TOR issues started at the beginning of the season when they had a D core of hot garbage.
Nothing about that has changed. Since preseason puck drop the question was always, is that defense really capable of winning games.
We all know the answer to that question now, and its no, it's not.
Bringing in Miller really doesn't change that.

Wait, why does Miller who has been a healthy scratch have this value?

I'd probably play Ceci over Miller, especially considering the cost here to get Miller.

Miller isn't good. Sure he might help for this season, but Leafs don't want his 3.875m cap hit for the next two years. Be better to have Marincin or Liljegren or Dermot on the RHD for this year then cap strapping the team in the future.

Reilly's returns is mid March. But really does anyone truly think the Leafs even if they make playoffs are going do advance past the first round?
