I don't think that's a package Anaheim fans are okay with. The value is okay, but they want it to meet their needs better. Though I do think Anaheim would be making a mistake in not trading him this year.

I’m sure this puts them over in contracts. Don’t think they have any use for Bracco. I would move him at the draft to the wild for a 3rd or 4th.

I disagree about the Bracco thing. Anaheim has the worst PP in the league, and that is Bracco's bread and butter. Even if they just brought him in and played him in a specialist role, I think he could help their team.

Sure fair arguement but i think a rebuilding team isnt to worried about their PP right now

"The Leafs finally deliver the goods and Anaheim agrees to trade Manson."

Not for those random bits and pieces, we don't.

Start with Timothy Liljegren and a 2020 second. Remember what Jake Muzzin cost you?

Does their AHL team need power play help?

Lilijegren is more than any player they gave up in the the Muzzin trade. Also, he is a right shot D with team control.

Also, the question of Ducks needs. I think they need everybody who is younger than 24 with talent. This team is heading towards the bottom of the nhl

Why would include Barrie in the trade? Leafs have cap with this proposal. And it's not like out of the playoffs Ducks need Barrie. So the trade at an NHL level is Johnsson for Manson. Ducks decline

I mean they already got bit on trading for Sprong, I highly doubt Murray will trade for another winger with terrible defense but wowing AHL points and underwhelming (or just none) NHL time, plus Sprong already is essentially that guy that they have to shelter 5 on 5 but can score on the PP (ik Bracco is a playmaker but still) do you want another one of those types of guys lol

Jake muzzin cost us a 1st and a chl prospect, and a ahl prospect. So why would a NHL RHD be the same value.

Manson is a proven NHL top 4 RHD defenseman. Liljegren has played 1 (one) game in the NHL so far. Loads of potential, but not proven. If Toronto is trying to win this year, and everyone knows they need a top 4 RHD, Liljegren and a 2nd seems to be close in value. Certainly more of a package that Anaheim would accept than what was proposed to start this thread.

Not for those pieces you wont get Manson? Like i've stated before without Liljegren heading to Anaheim you're not getting Manson period.

I know that the return doesn't meet Anaheim's needs, but the package in the mentioned trade, as well as Liljegren and a 2nd is more than what they paid for Muzzin, who is the superior player.

I'm not saying to trade a young rhd for him straight up. But as an extra piece in a deal, he's nothing to scoff at... sure he may end up being nothing, but he might one day be able to run one of your PP units. As a throw in, in a larger deal, I just don't think you turn your nose up at him

NHL RhD? He's. played ONE game in the NHL. Daniel Sprong and Kiefer Sherwood have played a dozen or more, and hit the scoresheet, too.

I mean you don't, but you also shouldn't treat him as much more than a throw in

I don't understand where I did? I said imo he could possibly help the Ducks on the PP at some point

Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying, I thought you were implying that I was treating him as more than a throw in, and I didn't know where you got that impression. But just in general, yes, he should not be seen as more than an extra piece of a deal.

I included Barrie in trade because I am frustrated with his high risk and high reward playing style. I thought he made a real mistake in OT loss to Montreal which led to a clear breakway which ended up costing Leafs. The Ducks can have Barrie for rest of season which will help them sign him as a UFA and Leafs upgrade their defence.

My point was they were less developed players for jake muzzin why is Johnsson a lesser talant that Grundström?

Yes, the two prospects in the Muzzin trade were less developed than Johnsson or Barrie, but Barrie is a UFA and the Muzzin trade involved a first.

Johnsson >> Grundstrom
Durzi = Duszak, and that's being kind
Barrie, Bracco and a fourth don't equal a first by any stretch of the imagination, and that difference isn't made up by the gap between Johnsson and Grundstrom
