This is all a big budget movie with an equally poor ending. It solves nothing and strips far too many players with value. The players that you have brought in here will not move the needle one bit as far as making the Leafs a better defensive team. Sometimes, the problem isn't about the actual defensemen.

Ever consider that it may not actually be the defensemen themselves that are the problem? Until this group can play better defensively AS A TEAM, you can expect the same results.

What are different defenceman going to do about the offensive turnovers that lead to odd man rushes. Beyond those what else does TO give up on a consistent basis? Not much, so is it the defence or are they still learning the balance between offense and making the smart play? Trading defenceman will do nothing. Fans just keep listening to the lazy reporting from the media that just tells the score and blames the defenceman when the reality is it's a system thing.

This really is horrid for the Leafs, Starting the next year the Leaf only get Manson and Miller...a so called middle pairing RHD and 6th/7th Dman. And the Leafs have traded. Dermot, Holl, Kapanen, Mikheyvov and Timashov.
The draft picks even out. But no way any teams is offering even a first rounder for Barrie.
