Roll 4 Lines Baby

Created by: Canucks_Hawkey
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2020
Published: Feb. 10, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Like it or not, Seabrook will be back next season so Hawks have to deal with his cap hit.

Gus and Lehner should be traded this deadline for futures because they're going to want too much money. They have too much value to let walk and Hawks probly wont make the playoffs even if they stay.

Cat should go instead of Saad at the draft. Same with Maata for cap relief. Bring in Haula via free agency so Hawks can roll 4 lines. Beaudin or Krys can take Gus's puck-moving defenseman spot next season. Have Delia and Lankinen fight for starting goaltender role at bargain contracts. Have a backup ready for call-up in the minors in case one of Delia or Lankinen mightily struggles.

No matter what moves are made, Hawks are going to have a hard time making the playoffs next season. This Hawks lineup could be exciting to watch however. Seabrook's contract is holding this team back until it's off the books.

No chance we trade debrincat for a contender's 1st round pick. If McDavid got him he'd probably never miss the net again and theyd be able to do something in the playoffs, making it a high 20s pick. Nope nope nope

You can stop after the word Debrincat.

As a CAR fan, i'm offended that your attempt to swindle us is flying under the radar from that DeBrincat trade

Thanks for your opinion. I agree Cat would probly find his game again with McDavid. Would be like his old days with the Otters. A first and a third is probly too low a selling price to the Oilers.

What do you think he'd fetch on the open market?

Lol I wouldn't say swindle. I just threw Carolina in because I thought they were a team that needed a defenseman. Imo would look good with the Canes too. Truly Hawks just have to dump Maatta's contract which isnt horrible because he's a good defenseman, just they can't afford him. Maybe Maatta would only get a 3rd from a team?

If it was a first round itd have to be at least in the teens. While he hasnt done a whole lot this year, he hit 40 goals last year in his age 21 season. Lotta value in that. Lets take carolina for example, because they are stacked in the pipeline and have 2 first rounders to work with. I could see a trade maybe being the higher of their two 1sts plus Suzuki, something similar to that
