I feel bad for Backes. Obviously he still gets paid a lot of money, but the guy still has a lot to give in a playoff run IMO. He isn't worth his contract, but imagine if he was a 1-3 million dollar player, playing 3rd line C and adding a physical veteran edge to a team? all 16 playoff teams would want him. THis is one of those deals that makes sense if Boston wants to move on from him
