Opinions from Preds or Leaf fans

Description
The Leafs lose a bit of offense from Mo in this trade, but they gain a solid Two-Way defenseman who isn't afraid to block shots and would be able to lead the Leafs defensively and give them an extra penalty killer on the defence (so we don't have to use Barrie/Hill/Ceci or double shift Muzz).

The Tymashov for Egor trade is just because I really like Egor, but he can be taken out of the trade if it's too one side for the Leafs.

Any comments would be appreciated and please if you just say no, justify why

Ekholm's better defensively than Rielly but Rielly is the offensive spark plug from the back end for the Leafs. Moving him isn't a great option for them and would take a significantly higher return than this to even consider it. I don't think Nashville and Toronto like up that well for a trade tbh

I would switch Reilly with Barrie, then maybe add a late round pick.

Both teams pass as they both wouldn't have interest in that deal

Then it becomes a problem with too many Lefties, as the Leafs would have Rielly, Muzz, Ekholm, Sandin, Dermott, and having Marincin/Hollowell on the minors.

This would also be assuming that we design both Muzz and Barrie to reasonable contracts

I feel like Barrie and Sandin could also drive the offense from the backend. Barrie is playing much better since the All-Star break

Just because the Preds don't have another Ekholm like player? Or would there be too much offense driven from the D?

Barrie likely isn't back next season. I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved at the deadline actually. & you can't put a 20 year old d-man in that spot next year.

Rielly is a leader on their team and is highly unlikely to move. It'll take a big return to do so

With Josi and Ellis already on the team, a player like Rielly is a bit redundant. Rielly is a good offensive D, but he is just not really a fit for the Preds - especially when you take out Ekholm out on the back-end (Josi - Ellis, Rielly - Ekholm would be sick though). But there is a pretty significant age difference between the two players at 4 years - so that would probably play a factor in the trade as well, so NSH probably should say yes, but I don't see the trade taking place anyway.

Just don't see Poile trading Ekholm, he has term where Barrie would need to be resigned and would cost signifactnly more than Ekholm. Reilly is a dffernent story for a deal, but Nashville is so thin in prospects. I don't see Poile moving Afanasyev to get a different defenceman that might make the team a little better when he already has a decent one that wouldn't cost him anything.
