I like the Skjei deal for the Rangers. Hopefully the pick isn't lottery protected (as a Rangers fan).

I personally would of been very happy if we traded parise even for ladd. Im now pissed off it didnt happen. Im one pf the few who was happy

Yeah I would have preferred to add picks/prospects in addition to Ladd so the wild could retain 25-35% of parise salary

IMO this was a very successful trade deadline for the isles. This teams strength is their ability to roll 4 lines and there's no better 3c to fill that role than JGP. Im pumped. I doubted LL but he did a solid job today.

Carolina in one day gets Sami V, Skjei, and Trochek for a first a fourth and a handful of 50/50 prospects? Clear winners of the deadline to me XD All of those players are young and cheap and established NHL'rs. Its a good day to be a hurricanes fan <3

Wasn't on much today. I hated the idea of eating Parise's contract, which ends when he's 40. If there was a 50% retainment and Ladd was going the other way, maybe - but that's hardly possible without us giving up something BIG.

My opinion on Parise is basically if Lou could get Minnesota to retain enough to get his cap hit down to 5,000,000 with Ladd going back to Minnesota, then I could live with it.

Minnesota, rightfully, didn't want to be on the hook for 33ish% of his contract AND all of Ladd's contract.

In an ideal world, I'd want 50%, but thats just not possible. I just feel like Parise should best be left as a member of the Wild.

Same for me. Just saying I'm not a big fan of the price we had to pay. However, i am excited to see Pageau as an Islander.
