Chicago isn't going anywhere anymore so who cares if they start blowing things up. Wouldn't surprise me if Toews and Kane waive their NMC and move on in the very near future!! It may be another 49 year drought but it was nice for that beautiful 6 year run!!!

I hear ya, pal! It seems like a mirage since '15 in how far they have fallen and so quickly. Two 1st rd KOs despite having the best record in the WC the second of those seasons, now early April golfers ever since.

Given how much he's struggled recently I'd say Bowman is listening to any offers for Cat. He's a great player just something isn't working whether it's Colliton's constant line juggling or the new contract is messing with him. Seems he needs a fresh start somewhere else and will probably do better there. This is Nick Schmaltz 2.0 Barzal and Debrincat would be interesting...

Remember StanBo extended one Artemi Panarin only to move him before the next season.

Stan bowman is so bad he made Jason boterill look like a genius in the joki-nylander trade. Just brutal.

As for cat, right now I boil it down to the coach. Colliton genuinely believes a team with a crap defense can play defensive hockey. Cat only benefits from the run and gun.

You don’t think debrincat could play in a defensive minded system like the islanders?

This happy. That style of play is best way for sure. Sure sucks to blow 2-0 leads, regardless of situation. This team is about this close of needing a total rebuild...nope, they are there already!

With trots as his coach and barzal as his center, yes he can! Absolutely! In Chicago though, i know strome and him are besties, but strome doesn’t influence a game like barzal does. Also, trotz can get the very best out of the cat. My only worry is cat’s work rate, as he does get lazy occasionally.

You have no idea how much it sucks being one of the only hawks fans who thinks long term instead of “hey Kane and toews still rock, so you can’t rebuild.” My hawks are absolutely delusional if they think the current way playing hockey means they can compete. I’m begging them at this to rebuild for 3-5 years so we can thrive for the next 15 after.

Actually, I do understand, my friend. I was one of the few who questioned "The Signings" before the ink even dried. I was ridiculed on another site but knew the team would suffer as a result. A lot has snowballed negatively since. BTW, I was against the AAV, not keeping 88&19.

Ya know, I get the whole “loyalty signing” label attached to seabrook and that he “earned” his 6.875 per, but that doesn’t mean the term had to be so severe. That’s what crushed me at the time. In all actuality, I thought Kane and toews also did the team a great disservice with their extensions. More toews than Kane obviously given how he’s playing.

Having said that, if you can get great assets at this point by selling wholesale, what does this team have to lose anymore? Bowman’s legacy in the eyes of hawks fans is irreversibly dented in spite of the cups. Either sell or get walking Stan. The funny thing is that in spite of the red wings being historically awful this year, I trust Stevie Y to turn that team around cuz he has a plan. Can’t say I trust Stan with that responsibility.

I agree with you. I think it’s important for a GM to have a direction and commit to it.

Yup. I don't foresee Chicago even making the playoffs in these next 4 years.

Hawks fans, I’m not being negative, I’m just being a realist. I AM WITH GRADERMAN. We are a ship with a deaf captain Steering the ship and a first mate blind to the style that it takes to win with this team.
