I dont think there is much value difference between Savard and Barrie. Only their style of play.

Savard is a good shutdown guy who the leafs could really use

And Barrie is offensive guy who is just as useful for other team like Arizona or others.

Columbus can’t be trading Savard right now. That pass on this pretty easily. Barrie and Werenski play the same style and would be an awful pair together.

You're right. This trade doesn't work for either team, Kerfoot for Savard did until Jones went down.

Yeah.... no matter what the overpay is Columbus can’t trade Savard right now. He will be our number 1 RHD for the a bit, until Jones is back.

Yeah that's spot on, do you know how long he'll be out?

I think it stands to reason if you are getting players who can play in their own zone, you must be graciously giving away (to Columbus & Montreal) players who cannot play in their own zone.
That isn't the best sales pitch.....
"Gee Mr. Kekkalainan, we really like David Savard, and would like to bring him over to our team, how about taking a bunch of these guys here, and a very nice 1st round pick, they sure are nice people, and practice really hard, but they just can't seem to play very well in their own zone".

Reports say indefinitely.... hopefully it isn’t really the rest of the season, but he could be.

Any way you look at it:
broken = 6-8 weeks
high ankle sprain = 6-8 weeks (maybe more)
Bruise = 2-4 weeks (maybe more, maybe less)

That's what I read also, I was just wondering if you had any more insight. Either way, hopefully, he's back soon.
