Trying to deal with the cap space trouble - moves with NYR and EDM

Description
How to sign assets:
Cirelli - I'd go for a 3 year bridge deal, at $4M per year. They have history with signing their roster players to 3 year bridge deals after their ELC, such as Kucherov, Point, Palat and Johnson.

Sergachev - in order to save money, I'd give him a Nurse deal - 2 years at $3,25M. That should be a good deal for a 2nd pair D, and TB still retains his RFA rights, making the next contract a big one.

Cernak - this is a bit touch and go, but I'd suggest TB going DeAngelo/Pettersson route and sign him to minimal deal for one year, and after the expansion draft pay him big time. TB has history of this too with doing this with Gourde a couple of years back.

In order to create money for re-signing these assets again in a couple of years, pay Seattle to take either Gourde or Johnson as their expansion draft pick.

This would be nice for the Oil. Killorn would fill one of the top 6 wings out nicely. Is your trading him in this proposal just selling as high as possible?, since he seems to contribute more than Gourde no? I guess Gourde is probably the harder contract to move.

I wouldn't want to move Killer, since he has been their best winger after Kucherov. But he's the only one that doesn't have full NTC.

I'd like to get more value out of him, but considering that TB has no real options aside from moving him or getting their younger guys offer sheeted, I can't see them getting full value in a trade.

I see offer sheets... Sergachev = McAvoy 4.9 million, Cirelli signing a bit low in comparison to Point. I see both getting low 6 mill offers Top pairing Defense and Center are critical positions. Cernak = Carlo 2.850 million. Killorn, one of the 5 mill contracts and we lose one of the three RFA. Sucks.... maybe package Cernak with Gourde to a team that Gourde would approve.

First off Killorn isn't waiving for Edmonton, Especially with Tampa a lot closer to cup contention then Edmonton. And both Sergachev and Cirelli deals are low-ball offers. Doubt Sergachev gets anything less then $4.5 million and Cirelli closer to $5 million or so he's on pace for a 60 point season and is a stud. Even then you're 2 players short and no cap space. The Cirelli and Sergachev signings just aren't realistic enough. Both will get offer sheets for more then that.

Stupid comment. You can't know what any player would or wouldn't do if asked to waive.

I feel like Holland may be trying to get a winger with term at the deadline - he's getting his biggest free agent signings over with now so he knows exactly where he stands on next year's cap.

Also If Tampa fails to win the cup this year Killorn could be more open to waiving for another team. A lot of ppl don’t understand that if a player is asked to waive their NTC they’re kind of more likely than not to waive it because it’s a sense of disrespect to that player. It’s a broken trust and it usually doesn’t sit well with the player

Neither Cirelli nor Serg are likely taking offer sheets, as first they would actually want to leave Tampa, which is doubtful, and second since offer sheets have basically never happened in the last decade aside from maybe twice. After many years of hearing they were going to lose such and such to offer sheets and then the reality was that Tampa was able to sign all of their rfa's without any offer sheets, I'll bet on that pattern continuing. Serg will get ~4.5, Cirelli around 4-4.5 and Cernak close to 2. This is how Tampa has done things for years and there's no reason to see it changing this offseason. They will attempt to move Gourde or Johnson first and if they won't waive, they'll move Killorn, it's really pretty straightforward. If necessary they'll move out a smaller contract as well like Paquette or possibly Coburn to make the numbers work. Tampa will lose a couple non core pieces, but none of the key rfa's are going anywhere.

While I hear what you're saying, I don't see the numbers working. Assuming the salary cap is $83,5M, they simply can't afford to sign these assets to those contracts.
